What is Body Counseling?

Craniosacral Therapy uses light touch to effect the health of your nervous system.

At Hood River Naturopathic, we provide conscious, intelligent, and vibrant care for our clients — offered with love, respect, and professionalism. Our practice is built on a deep communication between practitioner and client, one that cultivates trust and opens access to the body's cellular memory of its traumas.

We use healing touch to direct the mind's focus toward the residual expression of past traumas held in the tissues as tension. This touch is not manipulative — it is supportive, offering gentle suggestion to the tissues and guiding them toward their easiest pathway to change. We are consistently working toward what are known as fulcrums: the points from which the greatest amount of change is possible with the least amount of input or influence.

Your body is always working toward its own healing. The question is not whether you can heal — it is whether you can keep pace with your body's needs while also allowing it the space to naturally process the byproducts of past stress and trauma. Whether your body is recovering from an injury or managing the cumulative toll of chronic stress, poor nutrition, limited movement, insufficient sleep, or reliance on stimulants, it is in constant need of attention and care. Most of us, however, do not give our bodies the energy and focused attention required to work through that growing backlog.

Many of us also lack access to the kind of concentrated, loving support that healing truly calls for. Our loved ones, caught up in the shared weight of life's demands — meals, housework, their own stresses — often find it difficult to offer the sustained support that meaningful change requires. This is no one's fault; it is simply the nature of navigating life together.

Body counseling offers you a break from your world and its demands — an invitation to step into a space of peace and loving focus on your own needs. In a session, we support your body in attending to its own issues, beginning an unraveling of the binds left by past traumas. As we continue to work together, the path of your healing process becomes clearer. Change comes — perhaps when least expected, perhaps on its own timeline — but inevitably, once the seed of change is planted and properly tended, a sprout will break through.

Have you found yourself here for a reason? Life has a way of bringing us exactly what we need, right when we need it.
